3 Bedroom holiday home, County Wexford, Ireland

A three bedroom holiday home built on a very steep, heavily wooded, North-sloping site in County Wexford.

The house was raised above ground level on a steel frame to create a level platform on a site otherwise very difficult to build on, providing a covered playground on the lower level, allowing most of the mature trees on the site to remain undisturbed and raising the house to a sufficient level to make use of scarce natural light above treetop level.  Clerestory glazing on the South elevation again maximised internal light while maintaining privacy from the road immediately in front of the house.
