Flagship retail store – Mayfair, London
This 1920s bank building had been speculatively refurbished as office space when it was acquired by a major fashion retailer. The top three floors were fitted out as offices, studios and showrooms. The lower floors and basement were transformed into market leading retail store for formal and casual clothing and accessories for ladies and gentlemen.
Externally the corner towers were given increased prominence by the addition of stonework at the base and cupolas at the top. The fenestration of the ground and first floors was altered and awnings, light fittings, flagpoles and planting were added in the manner of the retailer’s stores in New York and elsewhere.
